The 2016 Chablis Terroir de Decouverte was reduced from 72 to 14 hectoliters per hectare this year due to hail. It has a light honeysuckle-tinged bouquet and chalky notes coming through with time. The palate is fresh and simple with grapefruit and a twist of sour lemon, approachable but just short on the finish.

The 2016 Chablis 1er Cru Les Roncières was not yet bottled when I visited the domain but the nose is promising with yellow flowers, lemon curd and almond aromas developing in the glass. The palate still has a bit of gas but the acidity lends this Les Roncières impressive tension and there is palpably good focus on the finish. This is very promising.
