Made in large-enough quantities to be widely available, as well as at a rare price point for the appellation, this is a bit of a find. This wine is pure, organic, single-vineyard estate Caberne Sauvignon—not a statement that can be made by many! Much darker in the glass than previous vintages, the ‘13 draws you in,with aromas of dark fruit,smoked meats, and garrigue. The sumptuous palate is full of cassis, dark cherries, flowers, and savory herbs, rounded out by well-tuned, fine-grained tannins.

Exhibiting classy cassis, toasted bread, creamy licorice and loads of spice, this medium to full-bodied, concentrated and ripe Pinot Noir has solid mid-palate depth and a great texture.

Lovely citrus and pear notes combined with a hint of apple pie baking make our 2011 Brut a classic charmer. Palate shows an array of fruit nuances highlighting pineapple and pear. This wine is finely balanced with tiny bubbles, creating a creamy sensation on the palate and a rewarding finish.

In spite of the cult status of this small winery which produces some of the most outstanding wines of the northern Rhone, its owners keep a low profile, and the appearance of the facility is obviously of little concern to them. Starting 30 years yers ago, the winery was one of the first to follow a low-intervention, additives-less vinification.

Chocolate, raspberry jam, cloves, licorice and sweet French oak emerge from the 2009 Arnione, a Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot/Petit Verdot blend. In keeping with the style of the year, the 2009 is ripe, racy and exuberant, all of which suggest the Arnione is best enjoyed sooner rather than later. There is plenty of Bolgheri personality in this flavorful, fleshy red.

Dark ruby red color with aromas of black cherry, black plum, tobacco, hints of oak, and mocha. Rich in texture, with a mouth full of black cherry fruit, rich plush tannin, and roasted oak that is well integrated and balanced.

Villemaurine is located not far from the village of St. Emilion. Jammy berries, licorice, spice, pepper and plum scents pop from the glass. Tilled soil, ripe plum, blue iris and a whiff of spice come together on the nose. The vibrant, juicy palate offers ripe wild cherry, crushed raspberry, mocha and clove alongside fine-grained tannins. Drink through 2018.

With delicate, golden straw color and lively effervescence, our Prosecco opens with aromas of fresh citrus, honey and white flowers. The palate is fresh and clean, with flavors of ripe lemon, green apple and grapefruit framed by mineral undertones. The light finish is refreshing and crisp.

This is the elite cuvée of the estate relying as it does on grapes harvested from the oldest vines of the domaine (35 years and older). Principally composed of Cinsault, Grenache and Syrah, the “Chateau” bottling also sees the addition, from time-to-time of Tibouren, the ancient and regal Provencale grape.

Do not be fooled by the strength and boldness of the Gros ‘Noré Bandol, though; underneath a big exterior is a wine of character, depth, complexity, soul, and finesse.

Sweet cherry fruit - redolent of Tuscany, and seems to have some oak chip sweetness to the palate. Ripe and modern, and more likely to appeal to casual drinkers than Bordeaux devotees, perhaps.
