Bonal Gentiane Quina is an aperitif that has things in common with both amari and sweet vermouth. It is an infusion of herbs like gentian and chinchona bark (also called quina, the source of quinine) in a fortified wine base that was first made in 1865. It smells and tastes strongly of red fruits like plums and cherries, but also herbs, honey, plum and licorice.

Highly aromatic, velvety and pleasant on the palate, with woody, herby and spicy notes reminiscent of ripe fruit. Its initial flavor is very tasty and balanced, in perfect harmony with its acidity. Twelve months in oak barrels give it consistency and character.

A pale, straw-colored vermouth, with balanced acidity, sweetness, and notes of citrus and Mediterranean herbs. In Spain, vermouth is often enjoyed in a refreshing drink which consists of 2 parts vermouth, 1 part soda water, ice, and a garnish such as a wedge of orange or an olive. Delicious with tapas, too!

This wine leads with a bouquet of red fruits and cherry blossom aromas. The silky palate is layered with notes of cherry, hibiscus, mandarin peel and a faint coppery counterpoint to the fruit.
