Domaine de Montille wines are known for their great aromatic purity. They always favor balance and elegance over power and extraction. Ruby red in color. The nose is expressive and fruity, with notes of violet, plum and black fruit. In the background a light earthy note. In the mouth it is light, with a good acidity and an austere finish.

Bright aromas of green apple, lemon, baking spice, bread in the oven and waffle. There is a little more body here, a little more creaminess in the texture, and a little more seductive flavors of lemon, pear, spice, and toast. The sprightliness of the fruit, the impeccably integrated acidity, the viscous palate feel, and the remarkable finish that that demands contemplation.

The wine is sun warmed, very pale in color and emphatically aromatic. The kind of Grenache that reminds one of Pinot Noir, but with an entirely different set of aromas. It smells like being in a field of flowering herbs. At first the aroma of desert sage is overwhelming. It surrounds one. And then the other herbs emerge, lavender, chocolate mint, yerba buena and yarrow.

This wine is about density and muscular concentration. It’s not clear where the minerality ends and the fruit begins. It reminds one of the dense reductive, umami laced burgundies of Domaine Leflaive, but also of the wild, Canary Island whites of Envinate. The aromas are pungent and leap from the glass; charred hazelnut, gunflint, lemon custard and yellow plum.

The lighter of the two second wines of classed-growth Suduiraut, this is a more accessible reflection of the richness of the grand vin. At four years old, it's still young, its acidity and crisp lemon flavors contrasting its core of botrytis and delicious fruit. Drink this balanced wine from 2020.

This super classical cuvée showcases the wines from Haro, silky and elegant after long aging in oak and a good future in bottle. 2009 was a powerful vintage, ripe but with good balance. From François Pinon's classic estate in Vouvray. Grown from older vine Côt and Grolleau vines in silicaceous clay set on a limestone base. The wine is produced in the méthod ancestrale, bottled while still finishing its natural fermentation. Bright, acidity highlighting crunchy red fruit with saline and stony minerality underlying. Only 700 bottles made!!

Lactic notes followed by ripe plum and ripe skin aromas from grapes grown at higher altitude, closer to the sun. It is a bit wild. The palate is tremendously mineral, with a chalky texture and incredible length. The tannins are ultra-fine and the wine is compact, very harmonious.

Both crisp and complex, this lovely Sauvignon Blanc displays enticing aromas of grapefruit, summer melon, lemon grass, and lime zest with subtle hints of Mandarin orange. Though it is crisp and refreshing from start to finish, there is a richness to the mid-palate that supports the vibrant fruit with a note of flinty minerality adding nuance and depth.

VNI Pinot Noir reflects the complex flavor profile of Eola-Amity Hills fruit, born of volcanic soils on hillside vineyards and sourced primarily from neighbors in Hopewell. The wine is medium bodied, complex with floral, mineral and red cherry, black plum fruit tones, and a long silky finish.

This is lovely. Floral notes mingles with crushed stones, lemon peel, lemon curd and crisp apple. Round ripe on palate with bright acidity, lemon, pear and wet stones. Good length on the mineral citrus inflected finish. All organic. This is the most powerful of the 1er Cru's Vincent works with.
