Super dry. This wine is without a doubt one of the best Rieslings we've tasted recently. If you are yet to be converted to the thrill and sheer pleasure of dry-tasting Riesling, this wine should do the trick. If you are already a fan, this is a little gem of Riesling intensity at a great price.

This Pelaverga, a rare and indigenous grape of the area, offers a captivating array of flavors, including fresh red berries, floral notes, and a subtle hint of spice. From the smallest of the Saint-Emilion satellite villages, this wine has swathes of black fruit aromas that go well with its firm tannins, dense blackberry flavors and concentration. Ripe Merlot dominates the blend, giving both structure and fruit.

The Bei Ranch Vineyard, which is situated less then 4 miles from the ocean, is believed to be the closest Cabernet Sauvignon planting to the Pacific. The 2012 opens up with stunning aromas of fresh blackberries, cherries and cassis, followed by rose petals, dusty minerals, herbs and forest floor that resonate through this wine. Linear and vibrant, this opens up with scents of tangerine zest and green apple. The vibrant palate delivers crisp pear, lime and white almond alongside racy acidity. An energized mineral vein underscores the flavors. Estate bottled and in certification process to be organic.

Lurid ruby. Ripe cherries and red berry liqueur on the deeply perfumed, spice-tinged nose. Shows impressive power and breadth on the palate, offering rich black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors complicated by hints of lavender and peppery spices. The smooth, gently tannic finish delivers solid punch and repeating red berry and floral notes. Vine age is between 20-60 years.

Insane Chenin Blanc. Romain Guiberteau owns some of the best land in Brézé, and makes dry chenins of punk rock violence, yet of Bach-like logic and profoundness.

At the palate, the concentrated aromas are complimented by acidity giving freshness to the wine.

Partial malolactic fermentation.
Ageing of 3 months in cement tanks.

Lemon curd, brioche with citrus oil and slight creaminess on the the nose followed by a nicely textured mid-palate and bright finish.
Mahonia Vineyard but added fruit from the Eola-Amity site, Von Oehsen.
Fermented and aged entirely in French oak with about ten percent new.

This is at once more aromatically elegant and slightly fresher as well with its pretty array of red and dark fruit aromas that are laced with hints of spice, earth and black pepper. There is a finer mouth feel to the sleek, delicious and vibrant flavors that are somewhat less powerful and concentrated but better balanced and even more persistent.

The last vintage from this Beaujolais master! Straight out of the gates, your nose is surrounded by discrete and beautifully layered persian mulberry, middle-eastern spice, persimmon, sweet thyme, lavender, red rose and molten metal. The palate follows suit, adding fresh acidity and gritty, graphite and mineral finish.
