I tasted this wine early October 2018, and I still don't think I've tried anything quite like it. The finish literally lasted minutes! I shouldn't be surprised that this comes from literally the oldest vines in Spain. 210-254 years old. One of the most complex and interesting Spanish Whites ever made. - Mason

Coming from a strong vintage in Chianti, this is a sleek, vibrant wines with bright, focused fruit flavors. Villa Trasqua excelled in 2013. Making a dramatic entrance the moment this wine splashes into your glass with a powerful cherry accented perfume laced with holiday spices and and vanilla, and with around 4 years in the bottle, this 2013 is singing right now.

Catena Alta is an assemblage of historic rows within the Catena family Estate vineyards. The blend of these historic rows, like the marriage of sounds that create a symphony, yields a highly aromatic and elegant wine that speaks for the earth and the vines that have been tended by the Catenas for four generations. The Catena Alta wines can usually be drunk starting at three years after harvest and into the following one to two decades.

The 2016 Pinot Noir Saveria Vineyard opens with exquisite aromatics. Resonant and linear in the glass, with terrific energy, the 2016 is very nicely balanced, even at this early stage. Pine, mint, forest floor and wild cherries are all beautifully delineated in the glass. The flavors really pulse with energy in a Pinot Noir endowed with lovely translucency.

Bright medium yellow. Lemon, pear and white flowers on the ripe nose. At once thick and savory, conveying terrific texture to its almost honeyed stone fruit flavors lifted by flowers. Finishes with a slowly building whiplash of flavor. Leroux used just one-third one-year-old barrels, and the rest older, explaining that Baudines is a cooler site and he "didn't want to kill the floral character with wood."

The vineyards are situated in the area of the Dentelles de Montmirail and Mont Ventoux. It is one of the oldest domaines in the region of Vaucluse. The owners, Cathy and Christian Bonfils, are both from families who have been winemakers for generations. They are dedicated to sustainable viticulture. All of their white wines are certified organic and the reds are in transition.

Black fruits, violet and licorice on the nose and palate; I would have guessed Vosne-Romanée, but then this vineyard is located very close to Vosne Les Charmes. Tightly wound, classically dry, vertical wine with very good energy and noteworthy elegance. Finishes with suave tannins for Nuits-Saint-Georges and sneaky persistence.

An aroma of ripe pear makes an appearance on the nose. The same pristine and abundant tone plays on the palate, supported by fresh lemon. Balance and concentration are an ideal counterbalance to a racy vein of acidity. The finish is utterly refreshing and lasting.

Dark with violet hue. Opulent nose of ripe fruits, black currant and blueberry.Concentrated mouth with soft tannins. Deepness of dark fruits. Freshness and digestibility are characteristics of the vintage. Rather long finish.
27 days long maceration. Aging in cement tanks for 6 months.

On the nose very intense, brimming with concentrated aromas of ripe fruits such as cassis, combined with rockrose and peppery spice. On the palate, very powerful and full bodied, fresh and well structured, packed with flavors of black berries and hints of chocolate. With a long and slightly dry finish.

This packs a lot of fun, with a wallop of blackberry, fig, boysenberry and açai berry compote flavors working together, laced with a mouthwatering licorice snap note and driven by a fresh, well-detailed finish. A roasted apple wood accent is integrated as well, lending textural contrast through the vivacious finish. Best from 2030 through 2055.

Dow's is known for its characteristically drier house style. This 20 Year has a full, nutty bouquet, concentrated, citrus, almond and caramel notes on the palate and a lingering finish. Many consider the 20 Year to be the perfect blend of complexity and vibrant fruit when it comes to Aged Tawny.
