Raboso Redentore pays tribute to one of the lost treasured festivities of Venice, the “Festa del Redentore”. Every third weekend of July Venetians celebrate with an immense fireworks display and sumptuous dinners as the harbor fills with boats. Intense notes of cherry, raspberry and delicate floral hints.

Broc Cellars' first time making Trousseau Gris. The grapes come from 40 year-old Fannuchi Wood Road Vineyard in the Russian River Valley. Grapes are aged on the skins in 1000L sandstone jars for 6 months, then pressed into neutral French oak red wine barrels. This wine is unfiltered and sees no SO2. Lighter bodied, with notes of pomegranate, cherry, herbs, & refreshing acid.

Grown on infertile, rocky soils that defy the definition of usable soil. On the waterfront, grapes ripen as much as the brave Azorean climate allows.Resulting in a fresh, elegant, salty and spicy red. Light ruby color, with notes of cherry & clove on the nose. Fresh palate & medium texture with lots of salinity and fine tannins. A delicious & unique volcanic red wine.

Bertrand Dugat described his Charmes-Chambertin as ‘like a rose that’s about to open’, and it was certainly reticent during my two tastings at the domaine. Its brooding bouquet of red and black fruit, earth and roast espresso, framed by mild reduction, is followed by an ample, full-bodied wine with the juicy energy that characterises all of the Dugat 2016s.

There is just enough reduction present to push the underlying fruit to the background. Otherwise there is good volume to the lightly mineral-inflected middle weight flavors that possess a notably finer mouthfeel thanks to the relatively fine-grained tannins shaping the softly austere but persistent finish. This is sufficiently inviting and can be enjoyed on the younger side.

Little Blue by Zlatan Otok Vineyards from Dalmatia, Croatia which is on the islands and the Dalmatian coast, local grape varying microclimates, and the rather harsh nature of the vineyards, leads to some highly individual wines and some of Croatia's best known. Little Blue is made with 100% Plavac Mali which is a cross between Crljenak Kaštelanski (Zinfandel) & Dobričić.

Dark ruby red with a lovely bouquet of bright brambly fruit and overtones of mocha. Bright currant fruit and dark cherry flavors on the palate, with a savory edge. There is a lovely freshness thanks to lifted acidity that is a hallmark of Barbera and a long finish.

Aged in Amphora. Pale lemon yellow color with an intense aroma of citrus and a refreshing mineral edge. The mouth-feel has volume that builds in the mid-palate, ending with an impressive freshness and a persistent fruit aroma on the finish.

Outgoing and expressive on the nose with ebullient blackberry, blueberry and subtle floral aromas—very pure and delineated, still correct, never flamboyant. The palate is medium-bodied with lithe and fine tannin, a silver bead of acidity here that confers great tension to this Taillepieds and you can feel that residue of mineralité tingling on the tongue on the aftertaste.

Known for their mastering of ‘lieu-dit’ farming, Domaine Roulot has become regarded as one of the finest producers in the entire Cote de Beaune. Founded in 1930, the winery has championed the soils of Meursault, cultivating wines of richness and precision. ‘Clos des Boucheres’ oozes with notes of hazelnut and ripe orchard fruit, with floral nuances.

The 2016 Dujac Charmes-Chambertin is young, pure and utterly classic in profile. The bouquet offers up a refined blend of red and black cherries, grilled meats, a very classy base of soil, raw cocoa, mustard seed and cedar. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, long and has a beautiful core of fruit, with ripe, seamless tannins, excellent balance.

Sourced from the original, own-rooted, Mt. Eden selection planted in 1971, these vines represent the first plantings in the region and predate the formation of the appellation by 26 years. Lemon confit, white flowers, apricot and lightly tropical notes are woven together in a finessed, wonderfully nuanced Chardonnay full of character and personality.
