This opens with aromas of eucalyptus oil, blue flower and roasted coffee bean. The savory, full-bodied palate offers fruitcake, cherry marinated in spirits and licorice before firm, close-grained tannins sneak up toward the end and leave a grippy, drying finish. This wine in 2015 shows lots of fruit, good freshness and character. The Grenache/Syrah duo blends perfectly. Pretty aromas of red and black fruit, good aromatic intensity, the mouth is fresh and generous. The silky tannins accompany a long aromatic finish.

Maison Louis Jadot produces a Pouilly Fuissé with emerald gold tones which reflect a wine of finesse and distinction. This wine has aromas of fresh red apples, honey and white flowers with elegant and rich flavors of toasted nuts and citrus. One of the purest expressions of this typical Burgundian grape.

This grand Chardonnay truly shimmers with lime blossoms, peaches, granny smith apples, and the chalky minerals the hill of Corton is so well known for. Corton-Charlemagne stuns with its density of flavors, not with body and alcohol, and this one is no exception! Fantastic stuff.

For more than 150 years the Brovia family has been crafting the finest wines in Barolo. Made from a combination of fruit from their cru vineyard holdings, this is classic Barolo, with a lushly floral nose, firm tannins, and a lingering finish of dried cherries, anise, and minerals. This is Barolo at its very best.

Germans call it Lemberger, Austrians call it Blaufränkisch; let's call the whole thing off. What's important is that this black grape variety produces spicy wines with good tannins and firm acidity, similar to one of the crus of Beaujolais; in fact, until recently, Blaufränkisch was believed to be Gamay. These are often ageworthy wines, and they're Austrian beauties!!

This year's Trousseau has so much style! – Alpine strawberry, delicate violet, and fresh soft herbs straight from a bright summer garden. The palate circles around polished fruit: watermelon, cran-apple, red currant, cherry, and tart raspberry with lingering dried plum. All the while notes of crunchy pickles offset silky rose petals and dusty black licorice.
