2021 Santa Cruz County Pinot Noir tells the story of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Its nose is strawberry, cranberry, and spice over dark black cherry and blackberry. Its palate is rich, ripe forest berries, with super savory length. Kenny’s Santa Cruz County Pinot Noir is all about the terroir of Santa Cruz and its elegant and ethereal style of Pinot Noir. Kenny farms its grapes organically and cultivates, prunes, and harvests its vines by hand. He makes the wine without commercial yeast, malolactic bacteria, or any other commercial additives. He ages it in neutral French oak barrels and concrete eggs, with a small percentage of new oak. He adds no or very little sulfur to the wine and bottles it without fining or filtration.

This wine is a classic example of Stags Leap District Cabernet, offering aromas and flavors of juicy blackcurrants, cassis, dark blackberry, and black cherry, alongside lifted, perfumed notes of wild violet and savory chaparral herbs. Drinking beautifully upon release, while also demonstrating the opulence and grace of the estate, this Cabernet is certain to age impeccably when cellared properly.

Lots of ripe plums and blueberries, together with smoked meat, licorice and dried flowers. Dark chocolate and wet forest floor, too. Tight and meaty with a dense, chewy tannin structure. Full-bodied, ripe and fruit-driven. Long, savory finish. Try now, but better after a year or two.

Made with a beautiful Aligoté grape out of Cote Challonaisse, 50% whole bunch and and 50% destemmed before sitting on skins for 9 days. A richer and creamier style of Aligoté with a fresh tartness, texture and light tannins prominent throughout. Rich golden caramel appears but acidity keeps it tight and palate cleansing.

This wine is all about carefully blending the nine varieties to achieve a wine that is basically and simply…delicious!
