Bonanza is a California Cabernet Sauvignon that speaks to the simple pleasures of day-to-day life. Created by Chuck Wagner of Caymus Vineyards, this wine is delicious, accessible and enjoyable over a meal. It’s made from the “bonanza” of our great state – vineyard sites that hold potential to produce good Cabernet but are often overlooked. Features flavors of luscious fruit, dark chocolate and silky tannins.

This delightfully fresh and lively red is the perfect introduction to the frappato grape. The strawberry aroma is delicate rather than loud and the typical acidity and dry tannins of the grape are invigorating rather than challenging. Notes of rose and candied violet are typical, with a elegant smokey tone. On the palate, much red fruit with balsamic tones.

Brun wants to make "old-style" Beaujolais and his vinification differs from the prevailing practices in the region. He believes that the charm of Gamay's fruit is best expressed by the grapes' indigenous yeasts, rather than by adding industrial yeast, which imparts wines with banana and candy aromas. Brun, on the other hand, wants to make a pure, delicious Gamay wine.
