Oh boy! This juicy Gamay from Yann Bertrand is one of our favorite wines to drink. Notes of juicy cherries, wet earth, and white pepper dominate the wine’s complex yet easy-drinking palate. Fruit is carbonically macerated, aged for six months in concrete, and bottled in conjunction with the lunar calendar. ‘Oh!’ pays homage to Jules Chauvet and his pioneering of natural wine in Beaujolais (his first cuvée was named ‘Pure Oh!rigine.’)

Working most in Fleurie, this Julienas is one of Yann’s cuvées that is from purchased fruit. Working with a passionate grower in this northern Cru, Yann showcases his signature natty style with the relatively unknown terroir of decomposed and fossilized granite. Fresh and lively on the palate. Despite being located primarily on the Fleurie/Morgon border, Yann was inspired to produce this wine by the relatively unknown terroir of far-north Julienas. Rich and spicy, this supple wine shows black cherries backed by mushroomy earth. An excellent option for fans of the richer Beaujolais crus.

More often than not, this wine can drink more like Burgundy than Beaujolais. Maybe it’s the proximity to Burgundy, maybe it’s the longer macération. Regardless, the wine is well defined with loads of fresh red fruit. Fruit for ‘Bambins’ comes from blue volcanic and schist soils at the northernmost tip of Saint Amour. Notes of wild berries, meaty cherries, raspberry skin, and crushed rose petals lead to a lingering and refreshing finish. The name ‘Bambins’ (kids) references Yann becoming a father for the first time two years back. Serve chilled

Appearance: Clear yellow-gold, like an IPA. Thin viscosity with light swift legs.

Nose: Petrichor, fresh mown hay, red hots, hint of smoky oak

Palate: White grape juice, raisins, mineral water, buckwheat honey. Finish is velvety, with notes of cinnamon, caraway, and marzipan.

On the nose you’ll find great depth with notes of hazelnut, apricot, cocoa, and marmalade.
The variety of woods shine on the palate with notes of cherry cordials, espresso, English toffee, and sticky pudding.
The finish is a long tunnel of wonder with a lingering sweetness.

Tropical notes are first to jump out of the glass, such as pineapple, toasted coconut, and citrus. The palate on this whiskey is thick, buttery, and downright tasty. Brown sugar notes are right up front, followed by orange, lemon, and a hint of cherry. As the palate begins to fade, delicious butterscotch flavors make an appearance. Yum!

Nose - There’s a lovely sweetness that’s akin to raisins soaked in brandy. Then there’s pine needles and a very sweet and tangy nose much like apple cider.
Palate - There’s a fairly bold, spicy kick for just being 100 proof, much like Red Hot candies. It’s easily offset with some nice sweet traits like molasses cookies and baked apples.

The flavor profile of the orange blend offers a caramel apple bomb, fig, and ryegrass on the nose. Apricot, rye, and caramel apple are present on the palate. When it comes to the finish of the Orange Blend you will taste black pepper and subtle hints of tobacco.

Nose: Scents of roasted nuts, cinnamon and toffee leave a great initial impression, then creamy vanilla that contrasts nicely with some oak and toasty grains.
Palate: Caramel sauce blends nicely with the flavors of peanut brittle while Flan shows off its vanilla/custard creaminess. Heat from the rye (and proof) are easy to manage with notes of red pepper flakes and ginger root

The nose is incredibly warm and cozy, and the dram just screams autumn. It starts with seafoam toffee and hot butterscotch sauce. The grain comes through with cinnamon reminiscent of fresh-baked cinnamon rolls. The mouthfeel is velvety with clove and cinnamon slowly heating up the tongue. Brown sugar gives sweetness to the palate, and cereal adds a chewiness.

Deep garnet-purple colored, it opens with intense scents of preserved plums, kirsch, chocolate box and menthol with hints of woodsmoke and Indian spices. Full-bodied, rich and voluptuously fruited in the mouth, the palate has a velvety texture and plenty of red fruit sparks of freshness, finishing spicy.

This newly released wine will mellow with some bottle age but is drinking beautifully right now in its youthful exuberance. With its medium body, moderate alcohol, smooth tannins, and well-integrated oak, the fruit is the star here. Notes of red and black cherry, raspberry, and touches of cinnamon and orange rind combine in a delicious, refreshing Pinot Noir that shows depth.
