There is outstanding volume and power to the relatively refined larger-scaled flavors that are much, much more mineral-driven on the youthfully austere, serious and compact.

In this wine, hints of aged balsamic and crushed minerals lend depth to sunny blackberry and plum flavors. It’s a rich, concentrated wine with a bold, voluminous mouthfeel that’s freshened by a tang of salt and chalky, penetrating tannins. It should be at peak now through 2035.

Light yellow color. A bouquet dominated by orange and mulled-wine spices, some smoky notes of future interest. The chalkiness of the terroir is apparent and clearly evokes the white chalk of the Champagne region.
