An unusual and gastronomic white produced with a blend of white and red grapes vinified white. Fil.loxera & Cia is one of the first wineries to work in recovering forgotten local grape varieties with good success. This wine's full of character, powerful but fresh, with some leesy aromas and a touch of white pepper, perhaps from being partially matured in oak and acacia barrels.

The winery is dedicated to the recovery and preservation of ancient local grape varietals on the verge of extinction. The varietal Arco has a floral and earthy nose, and beautiful delicate acidity drawing inevitable comparisons to Pinot Noir while also having wild herbal notes similar to Rhone and other Mediterranean wines. Classic with a paella this wine is a rare treat.

Made from vines planted in 1915, this shows the richer side of Sandlands, with lush aromatics of sweet raspberry jam and fresh red berry fruits, leading into notes of stem spice, black tea, red cherries and compote on the palate. A limited release, only 250 cases were made.

An homage to Priorat, this is made from indigenous Spanish grapes grown just east of Berkeley. Precise and focused, notes of red cherries, tea leaf, minerals and red flowers hint at the tension and freshness of the palate, where bright red fruit flavors are mixed with hints of grapefruit, cranberry, and white strawberries. Shatter comes from the small town of Maury in the Roussillon region of France. The hillside Grenache vines were planted over 60 years ago in 100% pure black schist, a slate-like, rocky soil common to the area. Though nutrient poor, it retains heat well, allowing the slow-ripening Grenache to reach full maturity through cool nights.

This elegant, medium-bodied wine features an attractive bouquet of cola, dried cherries and cranberries, and toasted brown sugar. Flavors of baked cherries, tobacco leaf follow with bright hints of cola on the lingering finish. Plums and strawberries with chocolate and cedar. Some fresh herbs. Full body, round tannins and a juicy finish. Chewy, yet so delicious.
