Dense, syrupy appearance. Looks like liquid caramel. Sweet dark fruit and booze aromas. Rich, ultra sweet dates, raisins, toasted caramel. Rum like booze tingles the palate. Super heavy, syrupy, sticky, chewy mouthfeel that even the high alcohol cannot cut through. Very high carbonation for the strength which is welcome. Complex and strong. Not for the faint of heart.

Follows through as promised and hit on all of the flavors listed, with vanilla and cocoa being the most prominent. Just a touch of heat warms the belly and makes for the perfect nightcap. Another stellar huge stout from Avery, one I'd love to have again.

Gaining inspiration from traditional cherry lambics of Belgium, the wild fermentation that is the folly of Avery brewers embraces the fruit of cherry and oaken nuance for a sour flavor that's both clean and robust.

Mint is running the show here. So much fresh mint. A tiny bit of oak can be tasted in the middle to the end of the sip with a residual mint sweetness and a slight sourness. Not too sour.

Aromas of apricot and a strong vinegar, acetic smell, small amount of oak, strong funk. Taste is tart and acidic; thick apricot taste, vinegar-like with plenty of oak. Almost like a white wine.

Tart & drying, with a strong shot of whisky is the cover story. Underneath is faint chocolate, leather dog chew, acidic, distant peat, sharp cranberry & lemon. The lack of carbonation doesn’t detract at all.

Loads of blueberry. Plenty of lactic acid complemented by a mild leather, oak, musty funk, not much hay. This is quite tart, but in a good way. A bit of sour blueberry pie going on here with a bit of grainy wheat which provides a mild sweetness and texture.

Tinge of lactic on the nose and tongue on first sip, opens up to show some dark fruit and raisin character around the edges but very subtle as the beer is exceptionally dry for its gravity, little discernible Brett character per se, but the wild yeasts contribute an unmistakable complexity.

Moderately sour with a hint of faint cherries, but more of a citrusy lemon going on. Lots of brett flavor that has plenty of barnyard characteristics and some fruitiness about it. hint of oak barrel. In the finish, you have a lingering mild sourness and a nice lacto kick that has a mild level of cheesy funk.

Deep mauve with purple and bruised blue hues though the center, the surprisingly bright beer bursts to the nose with tangy fruit-forward succulence. Robust with the dark blueberry fruit, other notions of sharp red wine, cider, currant, blackberry, plum and cranberry all come to mind with a soft overtone of musty wine cork and an overall cellar-like funk.

Pours a burnt orange color with small white head. Aroma of ginger, wood, bourbon, and alcohol. Flavor is nice. Ginger and bourbon. Minimal sweetness. Fairly crisp and dry, especially for a beer this size. Almost like a Vernor’s. Lively carbonation. Finishes with ginger and mild booze in the finish.

The aroma has striking notes of pineapple grilled over a campfire. Palate is light and sptrizy. Balanced notes of meaty smoke combine with a pleasant tart, citrus flavor. This is ultra refreshing.

Nice cherry in the nose. Rye and mild cherry notes compliment the lightly malty ale pleasantly. Hides the 12% abv well.
