Rye spice with soft, leathered cherries on the nose with a smoked caramel taste.

Honeycrisp apple and fresh orange envelop the nose leading to a creamy orange and orange blossom honey on the palate. Finished with oak and light white pepper spice.

Foot stomped and whole cluster fermented with a slightly shorter maceration time to create a wine that is lighter in style, preserving aromatics but in keeping with a lower tannin profile making it perfect as a fresh and youthful red wine to drink slightly chilled. Tart cranberry, orange peel, dried flowers, garrigue, and earth tones finished with balanced acidity and lithe tannins.

While still a rare grape for the US, this Austrian varietal is showing great promise in Oregon, and winemaker Morgan Beck believes it has potential akin to Pinot Noir to thrive in the Willamette Valley and make wines that showcase the complex minerality of the region. This gorgeous example shows crushed black cherries and pink peppercorns with a racy and vibrant long finish.

Rabourcé is considered one of the top premiers crus in Rully. Its old vines sit on a steep clay and limestone slope and yield a complex, powerful wine. The 2020 Rabourcé is a tightly wound, structured white with notes of lemon zest, herbs, and French oak—serious white Burgundy that needs a few years to unfurl.

Aged in older barrels, this rouge is deep in color and restrained at first. In the glass, it opens up to reveal irresistible notes of raspberries and red currant. It’s fresh, with good acidity, but also among the domaine’s more robust reds. The vines have an average age of over 45 years and the soil is clay and limestone. This will evolve beautifully over 10-15 years.

La Fortune is a single lieu-dit on the slopes above the northern portion of the village of Bouzeron, planted to young vines. This is fermented in open-top wood fermenters, with about one-third whole clusters to produce this forward, accessible wine, with a lovely cherry fruit scented with violets. On the palate, the wine is fresh and youthful.

This is a classic wine that ticks all the new passion boxes! 60 year old Guyot-trained gamay gets its start in granite soil with organic farming methods. Half-destemmed clusters are fermented with native yeast and undergo slow maceration for a full month w/ neutral barrel aging for 1 year. The unfiltered juice is well-balanced, enticingly evolving, and quafferingly delicious!

Barbera is one of the most famous Italian grape varietals. It’s VERY rare to see a sparkling version of it, never mind an organic one! Plus there is a TRUMPET on the label. This wine was sold to Joy by Eric Benny Bloom, the owner of the Denver based wine distributors “Benny & Zoid Selections”. He plays TRUMPET in the band “Lettuce”. It’s a match made in heaven.

Zuul has aromas of rose petals, blood orange and papaya and a medium-bodied palate with fresh acidity. Grape varieties were fermented separately, but vinified the same way: macerated on the skins for 60 days before being pressed and aged in a mix of neutral French oak and concrete eggs for ten months. This wine is always easily crushable on its own, but so good with intensely flavored dishes from South East Asia and beyond!

This is Chardonnay comes from the Auvergne region of France, right in the middle of the country. Not much wine from this region gets to America, so it brings us much joy to see it here! This wine is perfect with or without food, and everyone from your grandmother to your friend from college that normally drinks white claw will love this.

Hand-harvested; cold maceration is followed by fermentation at low temperatures in stainless steel. Aged in stainless until bottling the following summer. Fresh, vivid, and bright on the palate, with notes of exotic fruits and a beautiful minerality. Lovely purity of fruit; a touch of spiciness in the finish and lingering acidity.

Certainly one of our favorite cuvées, and one that is so inexplicably YoYo. Grenache Noir, Gris, Blanc, and a smattering of Carignan, sourced from three plots of ~100 year old vines. Fresh, fragrant, with layer-upon-layer of nuance waiting to be uncovered.
