100% Pinot Noir from 30-year-old vines on a half-hectare that sits just above “Les Terrasses.” Fruit is hand-harvested and sorted. 100% destemmed. 2 weeks of fermentation then ageing in 228-liter used oak barrels for 18 – 20 months. Bottled unfined, unfiltered, and minimal SO2 added.

This famous grape of Friuli was entirely destroyed by Phylloxera in the early 1900’s. Thought to be completely lost for almost 50 years, a medical doctor with a passion for horticulture found 3 surviving plants and re-cultivated this lost variety. The wine has a spicy peppery characteristic that reminds people of the wines of the Rhone valley in France.
