The two Zinfandels among the current releases include the 2014 Zinfandel Paso Robles, which comes from the Benito Dusi Ranch. One hundred percent Zinfandel tipping the scales at 14.4%, this straightforward, dark ruby-colored Zinfandel offers briary, spicy, easygoing strawberry and black cherry fruit. It is medium-bodied, cleanly made, and best drunk over the next 4-5 years.

New world purity and old-world soul. The wine has a rich deep cherry, black fruit and fresh berry forward taste with deep wonderful structure and color. Luscious plum, cinnamon, wild strawberries with a ruddy cherry sweetness fill up this extra voluptuous and sultry Chianti Classico. The fruit is well balanced and made bright by great acidity. Elegant and lengthy in the finish.

Bright salmon hue with vigorous minuscule bubbles and mousse. Soft citrus and peach pit. Very subtle yeastiness. Soft and supple with a powerful mousse that coats the mouth instantly. Citrus, ripe apple, cantaloupe, with a faint mid-palate fruit sweetness. Bright bursts of acid that leads to a lingering crisp finish.

Bright, with orchard fruit giving way to an intense minerality. The wine is produced predominantly from a few vineyards at the base of Jack’s Hill, planted on the distinct iron oxide granite that dominates the east side of the Salinas Valley, directly east of Sleepy Hollow North.

A pleasantly plump dark fruit character. The high toned earth note commonly associated with Chilean reds sits way back in the mix while blue fruits, savory herbs and sifted loam ease their way across your palate. The texture is lovely.

Clear, deep gold with persistent thin head. Piney with slight dankness, very light garlic nose. Bready malts, fairly bitter with a slightly green, dank finish.

What a neat cidery, and probably my favorite product from them so far; seemingly spontaneously fermented organic pear juice and nothing else??? Sign me up! Lots of character, and very clean too. It’s a tad on the subtle side, and it’s probably sec to demi-sec (I might like it more in the brut direction), but it’s hard not to smile every time I take a sniff and sip.

The 2015 Morgon has a fresh bouquet with attractive red cherry and raspberry fruit, a little leafiness here, cold stone coming through with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied with fine definition, nicely focused, less fruit-driven than many other Morgon 2015s but it compensates with superb delineation and more terroir expression.

This well-crafted blend is principally Gewürztraminer, Riesling and Pinot Gris, with a dash of Muscat. It's aromatically inviting, an explosion of citrus fruit and blossom. What follows is a tasty jumble of Meyer lemon, nectarine and pineapple, full, fruity and just plain fun.
