"Sho Chiku Bai" is Takara's main brand of Sake in Berkeley as well as Japan, and it is the best-selling Sake in the United States. Its high quality and superior taste has made it America's favorite Sake.

Aromas of toasted French oak and brioche mingle with fresh cut strawberry and candied cherries. The entry of the wine is rich and mouth coating offering a mélange of kirsch and dark stone fruits. The mid-palate brims with layered blackberry and savory essence of ripe pomegranate lending into a soft and lingering finish with just a touch of bright acidity.

Very pale color, with very bright and limpid reflections. Nose of red berries (red currants). The mouth is very balanced and very elegant, with tart notes, citrus, raspberries and red currant aromas, and a great freshness.

Very alluring for its balsamic, wild herb, sour cherry and raspberry flavors, this is well-proportioned, offering a muscular structure to provide support. Shows fine length, with a wild berry aftertaste and showing its age well. A gorgeous bouquet, seductive body with soft tannins and superb depth.

We were very excited to discover that one of our favorite producers for "off the beaten path" varietals in Piedmont made a sparkling wine. Grignolino usually makes for a wonderfully light and easy drinking red, but this dry sparkling rose bottling is loads of fun! Fresh watermelon, cherry blossoms and subtle hints of fennel seed make for a unique, lighter bodied bubbly.

An addition to the range, the 2014 Pinot Noir Baker Ranch is dense wine with a big mid-palate and plenty of up-front raciness. The flavors are deep, pungent and intense, to the point that the 67% whole clusters are pretty much buried by the fruit. The poor set here resulted in small berries that resulted in high skin-to-juice ratios during fermentation.

This stunning rose is a delicious reminder of Bandol’s rightful place at the top of the rose hierarchy. It is right at home with a bowl of black olives and a sunset.

It carries a pale rose color, a lovely fruit blossom nose and finishes crisply dry with a stony touch that gives it class and elegance. The grape blend is usually Cinsault, Grenache and Syrah in varying percentages. The average age of the vines is 25 years or more. The Rosés of Peyrassol are made from the direct press method.

"This is our first time making wine from Mission grapes, and we are very excited about it. Spanish missionaries planted the grapes in California to make sacramental, table and fortified wines. This wine was made using carbonic maceration and then aged for 6 months."

Made by the father and son team of Lucien and Gilles Crochet, it manages what so little rosés can: subtlety. This pink is consistently one of our summertime favorites. Made entirely from Pinot Noir, the Crochet Sancerre Rosé is a pale salmon color, with strawberry and cherry fruit notes and savory herb accents. Balanced, fresh and delicious.
