Tremayne Smith is representative of the new generation of South African winemaker. Sourcing fruit from smaller, old, low-yielding vineyards and then picking for delicate high acids, he makes the wines with minimal intervention using native yeast, minimal SO2 and bottling with limited filtration. This Pinotage shows a fresh, fruit-driven style, a true vehicle of the land.

Blackberry and huckleberry flavors are concentrated and plump, with appealing details of black tea, clove and dried mint. Firm tannins never get in the way, firming up slightly on the finish.

This lesser known grape from Italy's heel is rumored to have been brought to Puglia by refugees fleeing the Trojan War. Great with rustic pasta dishes like orecchiette with broccoli rabe & spicy italian sausage.

The zippy, spritzy Txakoli wines are mostly consumed straight from the fermenter in their native Basque region of northern Spain. The probiotic haze increases the body, and balances with the screaming acidity to add creaminess to the minerality and hint of natural salinity. However until now exports are always cold stabilized and filtered. This rare treat is great with seafood!
