This is a saignée rosé made from juice that is bled off the skins of red grapes from Jullien’s vineyards on the Terraces du Larzac. From the country of North Macedonia, this stunning Pinot is named for Alexander the Great (the original “Macedon”), and hails from an area known as the crossroads of the ancient world. Sharing the same latitude band as Burgundy and Russian River, the result is a wine of terrific elegance and complexity, rich yet linear; pretty, but with power.

Uniquely situated in the Dundee Hills, this dry farmed site boasts deep, well-drained Jory soils consisting of weathered basalt. The fruit was fermented in two small lots: one fully destemmed and the other with partial whole cluster. Brilliant cherry and raspberry aromas compliment the bright acid and delicate tannins.
