Enticing aromas of violet, woodland berry, loose vineyard soil, wild mint and a hint of spearmint shape the intensely fragrant nose. The tense, young palate is still nervous but already boasts finesse, showing wild raspberry, crunchy red cherry, white pepper and star anise.

About 1/3 seedling pears and 2/3 abandoned orchard pears. Seedling pears tend to be similar to seedling apples, they are often spitters with high acid and can be extremely tannic. The blend with dessert pears makes for a more complex flavor than other perries. Barrel aged in neutral oak for 10 months. Organic cane sugar added for bottle ferment only. No sulfur added.

This 100% Pinot Noir from the Hudson Vineyard in Napa Carneros pops w/ ripe red cherry & raspberry aromas & suggestions of camphor & red rose. Bright acidity lifts these aromatics & frames a medium-weight and flavorful body resolving in a long lingering finish with an elegantly subtle kiss of French oak. Aged 12 months in new Burgundian barrels, w/ two additional years in btl.
