Single-vineyard bottling from St. Helena, this is a much lighter style of Petite Sirah which still has the crunchy black fruit typical of the variety. The fermentation is whole cluster, which gives the wine a smooth, spicy mouthfeel with a tannic grip, fresh acidity, and an overall great structure with aromas of black cherry, plum, olives, and black coffee. Very tasty.

The wine is 100% Schioppettino. The wine is a non-vintage blend of 1 barrel of 2016 wine and 2 barrels of 2017 wine. We loved the combination of primary and secondary flavors that the non-vintage blend gave us. The Schioppettino has fascinating flavors of cedar, black pepper, violets, and raspberry. It has lots of acid and stony minerality.

The wine is aged in barrel and stainless steel for a total of 17 months. Extended lees contact, a late bottling, and wonderful vineyard blocks make this wine magic. Breezy, vibrant and focused, with beautiful linearity, this wine is consistently one of our favorites to produce. Only 150 cases made!

This newest offering is a compelling testament to what Dalla Valle’s hillside blocks are capable of producing. Blended mainly from the fruit of the estate’s young vines, Collina, which means “hill” in Italian, is intended to be enjoyed upon release—although, like all Dalla Valle wines, it will continue to evolve for a decade or longer.

One of burgundies finest talents, this is the FIRST YEAR EVER that Joy has been offered an allocation. These wines are sublime and ethereal, yet grounded with innate structure. Pernard is located just below the Grand Cru of Corton Charlemagne, and has a similar terroir. This is a rare wine and worth savoring.
