The 2014 Barbaresco is a beautiful wine that encompasses the important qualities that we look for in fine Nebbiolo. Ultimately, this is the kind of vintage that transfers best to the delicate grape. The wine delivers plenty of beautiful length and endurance. It offers crisp tones of cherry fruit with licorice, wet earth and blue flowers. Pairs with fresh egg pastas & risotto.

When it comes to the dirty business of wine, Pedro Parra is obsessed! He hunts out the best plots and growers based on unique Chilean compositions, all the sites for this juice were planted over 200yrs ago, with some vines as old as 70yrs. The main focus here is Cinsault, but these grapes often intermingle with Muscat, Semillon, Carignan, and País, which makes for a distinct field blend every vintage. The 2021 is aged in concrete for a year, then elevaged in bottle for another eight months, making a silky, earth-driven red.

Graves is a wine district on the left bank of the Bordeaux region in France, characterized by the gravel soils (graves) after which it is named. Unique among Bordeaux's sub-regions, Graves is equally respected for both its red wines as for its whites.

So good! Refreshing to see a 2014 on the shelf as it stands in contrast to the plump 15's and ripe 16's. This has a subtle game quality that underlines the barely riped dark cherry fruit. Further, notes of bay leaf and garrigue let you know this is classically made wine instead of manipulated bullshit. - Mason

Valmur is one of the ripest grand crus of Chablis, with its hilltop location & southwest aspect, this vineyard produces wine that is opulent & aged in used barrels to add texture & depth. Despite this warm microclimate, this wine has great length & elegance, & maintains vibrant structure & minerality. Piuze's grand crus all benefit from cellaring before they will reveal the depth of their character.

Offers up attractive aromas of green apples, white flowers, lime zest and rock salt. On the palate, it's medium to full-bodied, satiny and pure, with good concentration, tangy acids and a bright, delineated finish.

Though technically not a Chablis, this 100% chardonnay is from the satellite commune of Vaulicheres, east of Chablis. The south-facing parcel is Portlandian chalk (less limestone but still ancient seabed). Also making this wine unique, two-thirds is fermented in neutral barrels, helping to soften the edges and lend a creamy lemon curd accent to the wine.

Has this property been making strides, or is it just the superb quality of the 2013 vintage? Either way, this is a wine worth trying. The cherry and spice flavors are spot on, as is the medium body, silky mouthfeel and long, crisp finish. Drink now–2020.
