Fantastic little example of Primativo. Some being made today are too polished and mass produced. This retains a nice rustic edge with great acidity and power. It's Zinfandel but unmistakably Italian in expression.

A selection of grapes sourced from the estate’s oldest vineyards at 580 meters elevation are now being utilized for Osta- tu’s newest project: Rosado. This light and refreshing rosé is grown on south-facing slopes comprised of chalky clay over layers of white rock. Temerature controlled fermentation occurred in stainless steel vats and the wine was bottled without further aging

Fresh, bright and clean with white flowers and citrus lifting the slight bready quality. The fruit component really pops in this cuvée. Complex enough to keep you coming back for more but simple enough to drink with abandon. Pere farms 5 hectares in the town of Sant Sadurní d’Anoia in the heart of the Penedès. This cuvee is sourced from multiple parcels on the hill including les Vaudenelles, les Rosey, and Boivins. They are all southeast-facing, planted in shallow white marne soil on limestone bedrock, which brings out a lovely minerality in the white wines.

La del Vivo is a unique expression of the rare indigenous variety Doña Blanca. This wine has a lot of personality, and it is crafted to express the tradition and character of the area where the grapes are grown. A special wine for those seeking unique vinous experiences.

The gently pressed juice contacts the skins only for a few hours for color and aroma and is immediately sent to steel tanks where it undergoes fermentation for about twelve days (no oak). In the glass it is a light salmon color and on the nose there are pleasant aromas of red berries and white flower. The wine is crisp, complex with a lingering finish.

This is yet another in a growing line of excellent Syrahs from Polkura. Licorice and foresty aromas come with a measurable amount of coconutty oak. While the acidity on this is a touch amplified and gritty, flavors of blackberry, chocolate and dark spices are highly satisfying in a hedonistic way.

The 2015 Cabernet Franc presents a nose of roasted red pepper and prune that lengthens with oaky and spicy tones. On the palate, this wine displays great elegance with soft tannins and a smooth long finish. Coming from an exceptionally hot summer this wine will benefit from decantering to reveal the depth of its character - serve with brisket and red sauce pasta dishes.

Ripe and tropical, harmonizing fresh lime juice, fresh citrus and petrol stoniness from the Keuka vineyards with cantaloupe and tangerine from the Seneca vineyards. Behind the zingy freshness are a rich body and a discreet creaminess which form a well-balanced union ideal for long-term aging.

It's clear, but the fragrance is zesty, lemony and yes, fresh tomato-like. On the palate, dried oregano and green pepper come forward, plus a trace of tomato savoriness, and it finishes light, with lively lemon zest. It's mouthwatering, with moderate alcohol feel. 90 Points, Wine Enthusiast
