Cantine Faliesi winery is located in the foothills of Mt Vesuvius around the famed town of Naples. The Fiano grape has ancient origins and lives on the Irpinia hills. It is a fine and elegant wine with dry flavor with an intense bouquet of hazelnuts. Elegant and balanced. Perfect with shell fish.

This is aromatically quite similar to the straight aligoté if perhaps offering an even broader range of citrus elements along with a whisper of green apple. The racy and almost painfully intense medium weight flavors flash a bit more minerality on the bone dry and highly refreshing finish. This is at once almost gulpably good yet entirely serious in its fashion.

The wine comes across as a Right Bank Pomerol from Bordeaux, with an opaque ruby/purple color, lush, sexy plum, black cherry and blackcurrant fruit, a touch of licorice and forest floor. It's a layered, medium to full-bodied, pure, luscious and heady wine to drink over the next 5-7 years.

Picked on acidity instead of sugar, and shows freshness. This is not a botryitisized, overly-rich chardonnay in fashion... Nor is it an overly reductive style that is also in fashion. Instead you will find evocative chardonnay true to the climat that Francois owns.

Each year, Arianna uses the same few rows of estate Nero d'Avola for perfect, healthy Nero d'Avola clusters to sun-dry for 15 days for her passito-style wine. Really, one of the finest values we've come across in the last year or so. This Grenache has soft berry flavor indicative of old vines, yet the the depth and complexity found in expensive Campo de Borja DO in Northeastern Spain. Fruit-forward on the palate with cherries and blackberries carries through to a refined, lengthy finish. Los Dos pairs perfectly with casual fare, such as pizza, hamburgers, and ribs.

The Chinon rouge from the property is a case study in the balance between
power and elegance, spice and softness, and fat and acidity. Jerome’s rouge is
produced from a single block called “Les Chiens-Chiens:” 40-80 year old
Cabernet Franc vines. Aged12 months in 2- and 3-year-old barrels, this Chinon
is lovely and perfumed, with tremendous length in the mouth.

Ripasso literally means "to re-pass"...in this case creating a wine that is the middle ground between spritely Valpolicella and brooding Amarone. The Valpolicella is "passed over" the skins leftover from the Amarone, essentially infusing the wine with more complexity. Ca' del Monte's version is delightfully old-world, with flavors of bing cherry, eucalyptus and smoke.

Complex and intense aromatics of fresh cut wildflowers and fennel, with a slight nuttiness and pronounced minerality on the palate.
