Essentially a Meursault at a fraction of the price, this Bourgogne bursts with juicy orchard fruits, white wildflowers, honey and citrus zest. Zippy yet nicely weighty, this wine offers lovely concentration and structure; you can enjoy this bottle now, but aging it will only make it better. A true value for Burgundy.

This parcel lies along the plateau that contains the grand cru and premier crus of Puligny Montrachet, facing due south. The soil is shallow and very rocky, with lots of limestone. Half of the vines are 60 years-old, the other half 20 years-old. Harvest is by hand. Fermentation and malolactic in barrel, 20% of which is new. 10 month élevage.

Les Pins comes from a selection of the youngest vines on the property. It is a late harvest selection made just as the clusters are showing signs of botrytis. These clusters are harvested in their entirely, gently pressed and are fermented in French oak. This wine has the highest percentage of Semillon at the estate, in most vintages close to 80%.

This single-vineyard Champagne comes from Chardonnay vines up to 80 years old in one of Le Mesnil’s most renowned sites. While it’s voluptuous and complex, it remains lively and taut thanks to firm acidity and a piercing, chalky minerality. Talcum powder, caramel, lemon and roasted apples on the nose. The palate is brightly acidic with buttery brioche tones and a fine mousse.

The 2015 Bien Nacido Vineyard Chardonnay is our Ode to California with rich texture, lemon and lime, hints of caramel, ripe pear, guava, citrus blossom, almonds & a finish that never ends. This wine was picked and sorted from a very special block high on a hillside in the back of Bien Nacido Vineyards. It is barrel fermented 40% new and aged on lees for 16 months. 100 cases.

Casa Silva, the Carmenere experts, elevate the conversation about less-expensive Carmenere. Bright and intense ruby red. On the nose, aromas of black cherries and plums with hints of spices. On the palate, it is round and powerful with sweet soft tannins and balanced acidity.

The 2014 Napa Valley Zinfandel is garnet in color, and opens with aromas of raspberries, vanilla, and earthy dried herbs notes. Medium bodied on the palate with an abundance of fresh fruit and black pepper flavors on the entry, this wine is round, silky, and finishes with flavors of ripe blackberries.

100% Pinot Noir from “Les Juliennes”, a vineyard located on the terres blanches in Bouzy, on the border with Tauxières, and planted in 1973. Shallow, brown chalk soils. Whole cluster maceration for 2 to 3 days, then direct pressing. The still wine is racked once and not filtered before its secondary fermentation. Low dosage of 2 to 3 grams/liter (extra brut).

Patton Valley winemaker Derik combines their Estate Pinot Noir, Gamay, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris to make a whole cluster, co-fermented, and partially carbonic kick-ass crowd-pleaser. Reminiscent of a fresh, fruity, funky cru Beaujolais that is meant to be drunk slightly chilled.

Château Carbonnieux red has for centuries been a great classic from the region of Bordeaux. With its high standard of quality, it is the smooth result of an excellent blending of grape varieties from this region. The vinification, both modern and traditional of red wines, is carried out by slow and gentle extraction in order to preserve the roundness of the wine and the mineral

Meaty and chewy, the Tour de Pierres remains utterly drinkable. The 50% Syrah brings smoky, grilled, umami notes that are nicely complemented by the 40% Grenache’s supple fruit, while a dollop of Mourvèdre adds a touch of the dark side. Don’t overlook this generous southern red with uncommon drinkability — it’s a bargain and a treat.

Ripe and flawless grapes created a wine with mouth-filling notes of black cherry and cassis, punctuated with fragrant cedar, kitchen herbs, and that unique Dry Creek dust we all love. Drinkable now, these BOYS will continue to grow up into marvelous, mature young men over the next 3-4 years.
