With the dissolution of Domaine Jean-Marc Morey, Jean-Marc’s son Sylvain and his sister Caroline have split their father’s holdings in 2014. Sylvain owns .39 hectares of Champs Gains located just south of the village. The vineyards here are quite old, about 60 years old (as of 2016) and typically generate a wine that is quite full-bodied with a solid mineral structure.

Beautiful bouquet of cherries, dried herbs and violet. Nice hints of bright sour cherry on both the nose and the palate; A light wine with a nice tannic structure. Worn leather with deeper notes of tobacco and earthiness. Decant before serving.

Wonderfully expressive Cabernet from the Cape's blowy Atlantic coast. This has lovely varietal expression - taut and leafy but also brambly, bright and succulent with that classically varietal crushed rock thing on the finish. Deliciously fresh and vibrant seaside Cab, sourced from vineyards that border the warm Swartland/Wellington.

In the glass, this wine even looks juicy! The nose is super bright, appealing, a salad of mixed fruits that makes you want to dive into the glass. It’s just a hugely appealing and moreish glass of wine. Masses of strawberry, raspberry, red fruit, with a slightly creamy finish on top that’s really lovely. A blend of classic South African grape varieties.

Vivid pink colour. Ripe grape, pear and raspberry aromas. In mouth, the aromatic expression of Gamay is emphasized by the bubbles finesse. Rounded attack well-balanced by a lively finish. Perfect party wine!

Full of dense blueberry and blackberry flavors, this thick and concentrated wine has a very deep color, exotically fruity and spicy aromas, rich fruit and dark-chocolate flavors and an appropriately tannic texture. It needs rich, meaty food especially.

This deeply colored wine entices with aromatics of black cherry, pipe tobacco and sweet anise. The lively entry is full of rich red fruits of cherries, plums and a touch of cola, and the plush middle caresses with a silky and smooth mouthfeel. An unexpected pop of acidity surprises the palate just before notes of baking spices and mocha lead to a soft and lingering finish.

The 2014 J. Lohr Estates Seven Oaks Cabernet Sauvignon is dark in color with a bright hue at release. Layered fruit aromas of cherry and plum are accented by an authentic barrel bouquet of hazelnut, dark chocolate and toasted pastry. Sturdy tannins strike the palate and finish with the high-toned fruit signature that typifies the Paso Robles appellation.

This Cabernet offers aromas of bright cherry, currant and raspberry with notes of toasted oak and vanilla. In the glass, you will find flavors of cherry and currant and a lingering and thoughtful finish. Good structure, a moderate weight, polished tannins and balanced acidity.

The enticing aromas are reminiscent of peaches, meyer lemon, yellow floral, baking spices, honey and cocoa. Those aromas echo on the palate and are complemented by fresh orange and apricot balanced with creamy texture from aging sur lie. Flavors of creme brulee and a touch of oak can be found on the long finish.
