Pale gold. A lively, incisive bouquet evokes citrus and orchard fruits and white flowers, and an iodine nuance emerges as the wine opens up. St. Innocent Momtazi Vnyrd39.99McMinnville, Oregon100% Pinot Noir

This biodynamically farmed vineyard is often found as a named designate, and for good reason. It's one of the Willamette Valley's most distinctive and evocative sites, with less of an emphasis on pure fruit flavors, and more attention to details such as herbal tea, earth, stone and dried leaf. The fruit is tart and lightly herbal, like a fresh-picked mountain berry.

2015 Pataille Fleur de Pinot Rose79.99Burgundy, France100% Pinot Noir

Very Marsannay aromas! Powerful new oak dominates but there is intense cherry fruit with spice and forest floor. Not for all tastes but has real depth and concentration on the palate underpinned by light tannin and rippling acidity making it textured and long. Interesting and challenging as a rosé style.
