Certified organic. 100% Gamay from a 2 hectare plot of 60+ year old vines grown in pink granite sand soils – called Arene Granitique. Carbonic maceration with native yeast and no SO2 or other additions for 17-20 days. 12+ month ageing in used 225-liter barrels (at least 4 years old). Racked and bottled by gravity. Zero sulfur and no fining or filtering. 250 cs produced.

It is distinguished by a hard granite bedrock underlying the layers of gravel, large stones and sand; vines are able to penetrate fissures in the bedrock to go deep for water and nutrients and are well-drained in the loose, open mix over the bedrock.

This rosé of Pinot Noir (incorporating smidgeons of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot) is quite enjoyable. Fresh sour cherry and red raspberry offer an invigoratingly tart, pit- and seed-inflected palate presence, while hints of boxwood and wet stone accent a brightly juicy finish. Only a small share of this wine resulted from saignée, and only a small share went through malo.
