The star of the Mt Brave trio of new releases is the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon. There are nearly 5,800 cases of this fairly priced Cabernet. Blueberry, licorice, beef blood, tobacco leaf and forest floor aromas soar from the glass of this ripe, full-bodied, opulent wine.

This wine has attractive black-currant fruits and fresh, light acidity. It's an early-developing wine with soft tannins and a stalky backdrop. It's very eligant without being extracted or having too much fruit.

Bright and rich on the palate, this wine is brimming with flavors of red currants and cassis and has an underlying minerality. A strong mid-palate and well integrated tannins lead to a long seamless finish. Delicious now, this wine will continue to develop for years to come.

Dark cherry aromas with hints of raspberry and graham cracker on the nose. Kind of like Carneros Pinot. A complex array of red fruit compote in the mouth. Plum, cherry, and melba toast wrap around the tongue which gives way to pomegranate acidity well into the finish. This wine would pair quite well with any game fowl, a hearty risotto, or pork tenderloin.

Aromas of ripe plum, dark berry, violet, baking spice, leather and tilled earth all come together in the glass. The juicy, structured palate doles out crushed black cherry, anise, ground pepper, tobacco and a hint of chopped herb. It boasts a great depth of flavors and fruit purity, while firm, velvety tannins give it an almost creamy mouthfeel.

The sweetest and richest in the Historic series, the New York Malmsey unfolds slowly in the glass, gradually revealing layers of depth and flavor. Coffee, toffee and date notes emerge, followed by earthy, almost truffley flavors. Powerful and assertive on the long finish.

Tiny, immaculate pinot clusters sourced from just below the base of the Santa Cruz Mountains, in the Santa Cruz Mountains proper, and on limestone soils up against the Santa Lucias, and from 1800' up in the Chalone AVA were fermented with native yeast to produce aromas of red cherry and raspberry liqueur, at once racy and concentrated with wisps of candied violet & spice.

Spicy bouquet, there is a scent of cinnamon that doesn’t overpower the aroma of red fruit, cherry or black cherry; with aging and refinement in the bottle an aroma of dried prunes will evolve. Very full and persistent, quite tannic with an agreeable touch of bitterness. This is a wine that will evolve in the bottle so if stored properly it will mature for at least 10 years.

Deep ruby red color with intense fragrance of mature red fruit. 6 months in large barrels.

Givry is known for its refined and approachable reds. The best examples of Givry can have substantial structure, depth, and complexity, however, and can be expected to age as successfully as the premier crus of the Côte de Beaune, which is certainly the case at this address. Every wine François makes is from Givry, from vineyards he planted himself, which is very rarely see.

A big but mild-mannered wine, this has subtle oak and butter aromas plus ripe pear, butterscotch and white-peach flavors. A nicely thick texture carries all the complexity through the finish.
