Made from three plots averaging over 50 years old. There is considerable weight of fruit and a sense of luxury, sitting on the cusp of red and black fruit with really impressive density. Hard to do better at village level.

Production of the Carema “Etichetta Bianca” is approximately 7200 bottles per annum, two-thirds of which (4800 bottles) comes to the States. A small quantity of magnums is bottled each year at our request as well. The Carema of Ferrando reveals the most elegant and delicate and complex characteristics of the Nebbiolo grape with a surprising capacity to age, up to 30yrs!

After an initial nose marked by scents of rose and lychee, with time the typical Riesling aromas of petrol begin to emerge. Intense and mineral with apricot, passion fruit and beeswax. A complex palate, warm but fresh at the same time, with a slight astringency and a honeyed finish.

Valminor Albarino presents a yellow straw color. On the nose, the wine shows a wide fruity range of aromas with notes of fresh grapefruit, apricot and melon. At the entrance of the sleepy village of Savigny les Beaune resides this lovely estate. A family affair, Jean-Michel, Yvonne, and their son, Stephen carefully guide nature from parcel-to-cellar and capture the essence in bottles. Bright light golden. Refreshing bouquet of lemon, honey, acacia flower. White and yellow fruits with mint and mineral.

Pale yellow color. Aromas are bright pear and lemon accented by subtle minerality and seashell notes, with accents of caramel apple and nutmeg adding richness. Flavors, ripe Fuji apple and Bosc pear provide a soft entry and vibrant mouthfeel. Lively fruit is supported by notes of vanilla and cream, and the generous body provides a lingering finish of apple, vanilla bean & spice

Two aspects are relevant for Parcel or Lot D in the Polkura vineyard. On one side a higher than normal decomposed granite content and also a microclimate with slightly higher temperatures. Both factors lead to a wine with a more intense fruit character and much softer and delicate tannins. In order to preserve its character as intact as possible, this wine sees no oak.

Let’s start at delicious. On the nose there are dark tones of bark, blood orange, raspberry, fresh parsnip, cinnamon and volcanic rock. It hits the palate with blasts of fresh strawberry, limestone, granite, and a fine latticework of tannin and acid. The finish is persistent with acid supported fruit, carbon and ozone. It is both thought-provoking and rump-shaking.

Beautifully balanced, this wine jumps out of the glass with aromas of candied cherries, cassis and strawberries with vanilla cream. The supple entry opens brightly with intense sweet fresh fruit of blackberry and boysenberry. Softening through the mid-palate, fleshy red fruits of black cherry and rhubarb add a layer of complexity to this classic Napa Valley Cabernet.

This entry is medium straw colored with up front mineral, honeysuckle and musk notes. The palate explodes with tropical guava, mango and passion fruit, and folds into a vanilla crème brulee pouch with a poached peach core. The wine is multi-layered and complex and plays well between the fruit and spice flavors and aromas. The barrel fermented complexity shines through.

The complex aromatics include a range of fruit (apricot to citrus), fresh spring flowers and freshly cut grass. On the palate, these flavors are elaborated by salinity, water chestnut and grapefruit zest notes. The mouthfeel is round and coating, but still possesses the crisp acidity and balanced alcohol that characterize LMR Sauvignon Blanc.

This is a small production Sancerre from a single vineyard. It's beautifully crafted and elegant with subtle stone fruit and plenty of chalky minerality. Simply delicious.
