Intense, Plum, Oak, and Dark Fruit
The nose offers aromas of blackcurrant and heady notes of rose, cherry, strawberry, and licorice, with touches of blueberry, iris, violet, pepper, and mint. In the mouth, it is fresh and fairly structured, marked by a minerality giving rise to crisp tannins and fruitiness, followed by a saline finish, underscored by aromas of cherry and licorice.

The 2022 Pecorino Aries opens with a zesty blend of candied lemon, mint and crushed green apples. Silky-smooth, nearly oily in feel, it excels through its acidity with a wave of citrus-inged orchard fruits that cascade throughout.

Ownership of the land goes back to the 17th century, turning into vineyards in 1965. Gaglioppo, a relatively thick-skinned grape known for producing rustic and savory wines, is indigenous to Southern Italy. Concentrated and wild in its aromatics, red and black fruit dominates the nose. Light-weight, easy with very fine tannins. Perfect with grilled meats or a hearty salad.

Dark berries and fresh flowers, such as violets, follow through to a medium body with fine tannins and a delicious finish. Just a hint of chocolate and walnut at the end. Aged 12 months in new oak barrels. 20% French, 80% American. The wine is then aged 6 months in the bottle before release.

When the biodynamic winemaking team at Johan Vineyards in Oregon wanted to make a harvest style wine that everyone could enjoy they thought what better to make a wine ‘juicy’ than more juice. So they fermented bunches of whole grapes with extra direct pressed juice for a bright and fresh wine to celebrate harvest time! Great chilled on the porch, or with spicy Asian noodles!

Vivid black fruit evolves between layers of floral aromas and peppery accents. Despite the lack of oak, the juice is supple and anchored, ambling across the palate around turns of silty tannins and cleansing acidity. This wine shines best with a hearty winter meal or, equally, a cozy corner with a book by the fire.

Working with Rossese vines that are likely the oldest in the country, in steep terraced vineyards in Liguria she vinifies with stainless steel for the truest expression of the varietal and the terroir. Aromatic but full and dry this wine is ready to compete against the region’s greatest Barolos.

Deep, effervescent gold with a fine bead is just a pleasure to look at. A nose of yellow, white flowers, pear skin and fine lees invite tasting, opening to a full experience of tangy light orchard fruit, pollen dust, honey and white pepper on the dry, full palate. Wonderful for celebrations, especially with cheese, warm fish appetizers and vegetable bisques. A terrific value!
