From a small plot in Fixin, the 2023 Les Arvelets is destemmed with some new oak, creating an expressive, yet refined pinot noir. Expect aromas of crushed limestone and subtle graphite layered over red berry fruit. On the palate, it delivers supple, mediumbodied fruit with mineral tension and a gentle grippy finish - showing classic Fixin structure and poised for aging.

Soft and velvet feeling. Well structured, the tannins and the acidity are well blended with the abundant fruit. Traditional fermentation of tanning with temperature control, no barrel aging. Perfect to pair with food dishes on meat, sausages and cheese.

A smooth and round wine, with citrus flavors that have been tamed by yellow fruit and melon flavors. That gives the wine richness as well as a fresh and crisp aftertaste. The vines are first harvested, then vinified separately, going through 100% malolactic fermentation before being blended together.

This wine is zesty, lifted with aromas of yellow apple, citrus, dried bay leaf and fresh pineapple on the nose. Flavors of grapefruit, navel orange and youthful apple morph into lime zest, mineral and a long, supple finish. Pair with grilled tombo tuna, artichoke, grilled fennel and green olive.

A very big style for this wine, with dense and rich fruit, powerful wood and tannins and a flavorful finish. Needs time to mellow, but those who like big wines will enjoy it. Better after 2024.
