Fixin has the reputation of being a rustic wine, but Amélie explained that is perhaps because the winemaking is rustic and not the terroir. Claudia Papayianni chose to return to her family's roots for her organic winery in Thessaly in Northern Greece. This region has much more Continental climes and less Mediterranean than much of Greece, with cold winters and hot dry summers. This is a pure wine with a high-toned nose (flowers, red fruit) and a complex palate.
