Lugana is an appellation nestled around the base of Lake Garda, just east of Verona in Lombardy. Quite atypical for Italy, the soils are a mix of clay and limestone, which gives a cut to the wines that reminded us of a zingy Sancerre or top-flight Muscadet. Enjoy clean aromas of pear, nectarine, and citrus that carry over a palate spiked with acidity and minerals. Molto bene!
