Etraire is a rare heirloom variety that saw its heyday prior to the Phylloxera pandemic in the late 1800s that nearly wiped it out. Its from the off-the-beaten-path appellation of Isere, midway between the Northern Rhone and the Swiss border. Black cherry, crushed white pepper, soil, fresh herbs, black olives, all cut with the chiseled minerality of a high alpine stream!
