Not your typical American barleywine. Great big foamy heady with good retention. Smell has an herbal, nutty, earthy side to it; probably the hops driving this. Very dry in aroma and flavor, no sweetness detected. Flavor is more of the same. Easy to drink, no sticky sweetness, a finishing leathery note.
