Planted in 1890, the Evangelho Vineyard is a viticultural treasure and one of the last of a dying breed. Head trained, own-rooted and dry farmed - these ancient vines have been farmed by the Evangelho family for decades. Our Zinfandel (intermixed with mataro, carignagne and even some Palomino and muscat) was fermented with native yeast and aged in older french oak.
