In an area where there are very few parcels of truly old vines, Clos Armand is an exception. The Clos was planted in the spring of 1945. The soil is a combination of gabbros (raw volcanic soil) and small amounts of grey slate, both of which are rare to find in this area. As you know, Muscadet is mostly granite orforms of evolved granite.
