Borgoforte is a small village in the middle of our estate that proved too strong to conquer. The name means "strong village". This wines is made in the "Super-Tuscan" style by adding Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes to the classical grape of Tuscany, Sangiovese. Aged for 12 months in Taransaud French oak (one year used). Rose and cherry flavors mingle in this dense red. The tannins take over the lingering finish of fruit and spice, showing balance.
