The tiny French town of Cerdon is very close to the Swiss border in a little-known VDQS called Bugey. The wine is sparkling rosé, but not just any sparkling rosé. Made from gamay and the local poulsard, it is a delicately sweet, low-alcohol, strawberry colored wine that is yummy with chocolate-based desserts but also ideal as an early evening aperitif.
