Cannonau is Sardegna’s version of the Spanish Garnacha and the island’s most widely-planted grape. (Old-timers sometimes spelled it “Canonau”, and that’s what’s on the vintage label.) Cardedu’s vineyards for this wine are in the growing zone of Jerzu, which is historically among the most prized terroirs on the entire island for Cannonau.
