Planted by a bootlegger in 1922, this ungrafted old vine Zinfandel has been grown by the Besson family for the past ninety years. The vineyard was set against the eastern edge of the Santa Cruz Mountains. Destemmed, fermented and aged in neutral barrel for 9 months. High-toned and bright in style, with tannic grip coming from the Mourvèdre added from Contra Costa County.
