Lucien Crochet is one of the very best producers of Sancerre, making profound and beautiful wines year after year. This vintage of Croix du Roy displays an exhilarating balance of power, structure and mineral delicacy. There's a reductive edge to this wine which allows the subtle fruit notes to shine, but not become overt and obnoxious. Great sancerre. Maybe one of the best we've had.
