In 2002, Chateau Dassault purchased its closest neighbor, Chateau la Fleur, with the intention of elevating this wine to Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classe status. Laurent Dassault decided to invest in this estate located on a clayey promontory on the northern slops of the appellation area, to enable its marvellous terroir to express its true value.
