A trip to Islay caused distillery manager Ian Millar to order a batch of peat. For a week a year, The Balvenie distills a batch of peated malt, resulting in a whisky rich in honey, vanilla and citrus notes with an extra layer of delicate smokiness. This is not a typical Islay-style peat-heavy whisky, but one with a lovely hint of smoke to highlight a beautiful, balanced spirit.
