Graupert means "tangled" or "wild", a characteristic of these particular vines grown at Meinklang farm. These vines feature smaller grapes and thicker skins. Such grapes are very aromatic and, when vinified, produce wines of darker color. Graupert Pinot Gris is a skin contact wine, hence the rose-golden yellow color, honey, and dried apricot on the nose.
