Taru sake always sees cedar barrels and is traditionally reserved for special occasions. The cedar barrels are made in house at Kikumasamune, using cedar from sustainably maintained Yoshinosugi area. It is like coming indoors from a snowy walk during the winter holidays-cedar, baking spice and black pepper elegantly integrate into the palate, with subtle nuances of melon, wet slate and lime in the backdrop.
