2018 was a very warm growing season, and dry through Spring and Summer with a change to wetter conditions in the Autumn harvest period. When Jules Taylor comes across a plot of special vines she makes and releases OTC (On the Quiet). Selected bunches of fruit from the Plunkett Vineyard were hand harvested and whole cluster pressed into old oak barrels for wild fermentation and maturation. The 2016 Mohua Sauvignon Blanc begins with aromatics of grapefruit blossom, kumquat, unripe melon and suggestions of starfruit. There are vibrant flavors of kiwi, starfruit, and gooseberry. This is a solid effort from this estate as well as an excellent value.

Green Glow is 100% skin-­fermented Sauvignon Blanc. We believe that Green Glow 2013 was New Zealand's first skin-fermented Sauvignon Blanc and the style provides a really interesting and friendly wine. Oh, and the label glows in the dark. A very interesting take on Kiwi Sauvignon, but this supernatural is not too scary.

Using a green-tea tannin extract in place of sulfur as an antimicrobial and preservative. It completely changes this famous wine style. Medium gold in color, it smells like honeycomb, pineapple turnover cake, lemon verbena, wild herbs and, yes, green tea. Highly food-friendly wine, more in the vein of a Chardonnay than a traditional Marlborough Sauvignon.

2015 is very high toned with unusual oral characteristics and a clean, wet-stone minerality - right up there with the best we have ever made. Not a grapefruit or passion fruit in sight, which is great. Rich enough to match with white meats, tuna or swordfish but equally at home with shellfish & other seafood.
