8.1% ABV, what? That's not noticeable at all. It doesn't feel significantly hoppier than some of their single IPA selections, but it's still nice. There's a small amount of bready Pilsner malt present- it helps hold it all together. There's lot of classic grapefruit hops, a bit of orange, lots of bitter pine.

Woof! First thing you notice is the effect of the whiskey barrel aging. You get the alcohol front and center, with the flavor of toasted oak and the whiskey, which is incredibly smooth. Then you get the apricot dry dock is known for, which is definitely on the sweet, sugary side of things. No notable hop presence, and any malting fights the barrel aging for palate control.
