This wine comes entirely from Martian Ranch Vineyard in Alisos Canyon AVA. Martian Ranch has been farmed biodynamically since its inception and has been Demeter certified since 2010. A stunning Spring/Summer sipper from Alice! Jumps out of the glass, like walking through a sunny garden with fresh blooms and a couple fruit trees. Think picnics and dog parks.

Pure aromas of lemon confit, poached Asian pears, pastry and lanolin. The palate is medium-bodied with focused acidity and a creamy texture, giving notes of lime curd, orange blossoms, yellow apples and flint. Very well constructed and polished.

Tokubetsu means “special” in Japanese, and Hakkaisan “Tokubetsu Junmai” is special indeed, with a bit of extra polish on the rice compared to a regular junmai. The slightly richer body comes with a mild and creamy texture, which melts across the palate like a snowflake caught on the tongue. With a clean, satisfying taste tailored to compliment many foods.

"Pinard" is slang for the deeply loved wine rations of French troops in WWI. Slang ‘poilu’ - ‘the hairy one’ - describes the rustic countrymen sporting bushy mustaches or beards that made up much of the troops ranks. Apple, apricot and citrus with a waxy almond nuance, the wine is round and textured with a subtle lift on the finish. Aged 70% in concrete, 20% in old French oak and 10% in stainless steel. This is a fun natural wine for both the newly curious as well as veteran Orange wine drinkers!

Gilgal Brut is produced in the cool climate of Israel's Golan Heights. Using only traditional methods and aged for a minimum of one year in the bottle, this sparkling wine shows off bright lemon notes nuanced with crisp green apples and pears, fresh flowers, and hints of wild strawberries. Its refreshing tartness makes the wine immensely drinkable.

Sometimes the simplest description paints the clearest picture. So when Rosalind Reynolds' tasting notes for Pink Lemonade read simply "like pink lemonade, but with 11% abv," my reaction was less, "well that seems a bit lazy" and more, "Damn, if that isn't the most apt, efficient, and enticing description!"
